Q: At what age should my child have their first
dental appointment?
A: According to the American Dental Association (ADA), children should visit a pediatric dentist for the first time no later than their first birthday, even if a tooth has yet to emerge. During their first visit, our dentist will gently examine your child’s gums and/or teeth and check for any conditions that may require special care. We will also take the time to answer any questions you may have and provide you with the best educational resources to help you keep your child’s smile healthy between appointments.
Q: Do I stay with my child during the visit?
A: We allow parents to stay with their children during their exams and treatments! If your child would feel less anxious by having a parent present, we are happy for you to accompany your child to the exam room. If your child is comfortable attending their appointment independently, you are welcome to sit back and relax in our welcoming waiting area.
Q: Do you offer sedation dentistry?
A: Yes! If your child has anxiety or special needs, we are happy to offer sedation options to help calm their nerves and feel comfortable during their appointment. Our team is happy to discuss options with you to decide what option is best suited for your child.
